Case Study 1

The Lever Advisers team was engaged by a major conventional dairy CPG player (~$1b annual revenue) to assist with identifying a promising acquisition in the plant-based dairy category. Target parameters included minimum annual revenue of $30m, at or approaching EBITDA-positive financials, and premium brand positioning.

From an initial category review of 45 companies, Lever Advisers identified, approached and pre-vetted a short list of eight top targets. Ultimately one top prospect was identified for acquisition in a ~$135m transaction.

The Lever Advisers team was engaged by one of the world’s largest food companies ($100b+ annual revenue) for strategic consultation on its global alternative protein commercial strategy.

Through the provision of geographic-specific research and a series of in-person sessions with senior management teams from North America, Europe and Asia over a six month period, Lever Advisers’ team helped this global leader solidify a product and investment expansion strategy for alternative protein.

Lever Advisers was engaged by a global top 10 meat company (>$10b annual revenue) to assist with identifying multiple acquisition targets in Europe, North America and Latin America in the plant-based meat category. Target parameters included specifications on production capacity, SKU selection, revenue and POS count.

From an initial category review of 220+ companies, Lever Advisers identified, approached, and pre-vetted a short list of top targets from each of several regions. Ultimately several top prospects were identified for full acquisition, with transactions totaling ~$150m.
